I did not like it, I've read only a few chapters. I like to read romance and, if I'm in the mood, I like to read a good book of erotic romance and bdsm so spanking is not the problem.
Harry is not interested in taking a wife, but he falls in love with Kitty at first sight. He is a gambler, but he does not consider it a problem because he always wins. Her brother, another gambler, always loses. Then they make a deal and Harry buys Kitty, so her brother can pay off debts. She is 18 years old and he is about 35. She is very rude at dinner and Harry, to prevent her brother from give her a slap, says he will discipline her. And that's the first spanking scene. She has behaved badly and deserves a spanking. I do not like the books of older men who marry 18-year-old girls. And I do not like books in which the male protagonist physically punishes the heroine. Hitting the girl just to have spanking scenes seems nasty to me. In The Westerfield Affair the spanking scenes are not consensual, she does not want to be whipped. He does it to punish her and that is abuse.

What did you love best about The Westerfield Affair?
It's sweet and hot at the same time. I wanted it to go on and on.

The spankings and the romance.

What does Elliott Daniels bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
It was a little bit strange at first hearing a man reading a romance. But I soon realized how good he was at differentiating the different characters. I look forward to hearing him read others. He reminded me of my favorite reader/narrator Barbara Rosenblatt well I probably just mangled the spelling of that.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There were several moments that moved me, but I hate spoilers so I won't spoil it for anyone.

I highly recommend this it's a favorite for me.
A lust at first sight historical erotica that is stuffed full of misunderstandings. While the novel wasn’t terrible, I probably would have enjoyed it more had there been more meat to it. The never-ending misunderstandings grew tedious, especially for someone who firmly believes in honesty and being forthright. The self-punishment wasn’t necessary either. Personally, I really liked the characters for all their faults and personality. It was their actions that frustrated me. I also felt this story toed the line between romance and erotica as the focused seemed to be more on the heroine being spanked than anything.

Overall, I feel that there wasn’t actually anything wrong with the novella. I just wanted more.
Every time I think I have found my favorite story by Renee Rose I read her next release and change my mind! The Westerfield Affair is worth five stars and more. I immediately fell for Kitty because of her spunk but knew there was more to her story. She has quite the mouth on her but again you have to dig deeper to get all the levels of this amazing character to surface.

Lord Westerfield also delighted me though there were a few points in the book I found myself shaking my head at him. He adores Kitty and is wickedly attracted to her so much so that the story takes quite a turn. All I can say without risking a spoiler is he makes it right!

The tension and attraction between these two main characters is palpable as well as the true care and love weaved throughout. Very sweet as well as highly sexy. There are many spankings peppered through the plot but they add rather than take away from this incredible regency.

Five stars hands down! I look forward to Renee's next release!

This was a delightfully funny, romantic, and titallating story with characters so flawed they're hard not to find charming. Let's not forget all the spanking that's needed to keep things interesting. A quick read I thoroughly enjoyed.
